The IHSA Board of Directors, the Do What's Right! Advisory Committee, and the ISA Staff have awarded the Champaign Central Dance Team a Do What's Right! State Final Sportsmanship Banner at the 2025 Competitive Dance State Finals.
During interscholastic contests, they earned this prestigious award for their commitment to good sportsmanship. Central has set a high standard for other schools to follow during regular and post-season participation.

Some culinary students at Central High School donut have to worry about their final grade in the Nutrition & Culinary Arts II Class! They completed a vigorous three-week project where they developed a successful food truck business. Six food truck teams competed using themes that included Breakfast, Dessert, Tacos, Egg Rolls, Pizza, Sandwiches or Wraps. The team with the highest NET profit (profit minus start-up costs) won the competition. This is another great example of students experiencing real-life skills.
Last night, Central High School teacher, Mike Slagor, was awarded the Champaign Park District Sports Volunteer of the Year award for his years of coaching softball!
Mr. Slagor has dedicated the last 4 years coaching multiple teams for his daughters and dozens of other Champaign girls. He has helped the Champaign softball program move from 3 teams to over 12 teams in the last 4 years. He is consistently requested as a coach due to his commitment, skills instruction, and dedication to a fun and inclusive team!

Champaign Central HS is pleased to announce that, for the remainder of the school year, Devin Lindemann will formally continue in the role of interim Athletic Director. Justin Tomaska, Central teacher and coach, will become our new interim Associate Athletic Director.
Champaign Unit 4 School District will be closed tomorrow, November 5th in observance of Election Day. All campuses and administrative buildings will be closed. Classes and normal school operations will resume on Wednesday, November 6th.
