  • Attention Juniors: The PSAT/NMSQT is an optional practice SAT and the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The test is only open to juniors. The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1st, at 7:45 AM at Central.  In order to register for this optional test, please make your $18 through MySchoolBucks or email Ms. Barkley with any questions.

 

  • Chess club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays in The Den. We start right after school and go to 5:00. We welcome all ability levels as we work on beginning ideas to tactics, to openings, to endgame themes, and more. Hope to see you there!

  • Central's Spectrum Alliance club is a safe place for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to meet with supportive allies and staff. We discuss important topics, watch movies, make crafts, and even participate in CU Pride. Our first meeting will be next Wednesday, August 27th, in room 3206.   • Do you love telling awesome stories? The Dungeons & Dragons Club is all about creating adventures together. Whether you see yourself as a daring hero, a clever strategist, or just someone who wants to hang out and imagine with friends, there’s a place for you here. No experience is needed—everyone is welcome. Our first informational meeting is  Wednesday the 27th right after school in the library.   • Join us for NAMI Club on Thursday, August 28th, from 3:20-4pm in room 2208.  We will discuss what NAMI stands for and activities for the remaining year.  Snacks will be provided.  All are welcome!

  • Are you interested in writing and reporting? The Chronicle Newspaper Club will have its first meeting on Tuesday, August 26, after school in room 3206. Join us to learn more about the club! Contact Teacher Choi for any questions. 

  • Looking for an opportunity to make long-lasting connections, run for leadership positions, and build or showcase your skills in a competition-based extracurricular? Come find out more about SkillsUSA this Wednesday in room 1330 from 3:30 to 4:30. There are over 100 competitive events in trade, technical, and health occupations, so there's something for everyone! Food will be provided.

  • Gamer's club will have their first meeting on Friday, August 29th. The meeting will be after school in the library. If you have a video game or board game that you are itching to play, bring them here! For more information, contact Mr. Hargrove in room 3315.

  • Anime club will have their first meeting on Thursday, August 28th. The club will meet after school in room 3315. We will talk about what shows we will want to watch and activities we will want to do. For more information, contact Mr. Hargrove in room 3315.

  • Are you interested in helping our environment and supporting sustainability? Join Eco Club! Our first general meeting will be Wednesday at 3:30 in room 3318. We also meet every Thursday at 3:30 to recycle bottles and cans for the school. Please contact Ms. Seten for more information.

  • The ladies of the Gamma Upsilon Psi Society would like to invite all African American, female, juniors and seniors that are graduating this school year to an informational meeting regarding the 2026 Cotillion Ball. This informational meeting will be held on Sunday, September 7th at 2:00 p.m. at the Champaign Public Library in the Roberson Pavilion Room A.

  • Do you like to argue, think critically, and stand your ground? Join Debate Club! You don’t have to be a debater either—join us and be a judge, or an interactive audience member during the Q&A section. Come challenge ideas, build confidence, and have fun. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, August 27th, from 3:30 to 5:00 after school in Room 3313. Everyone is welcome; no experience needed. We hope to see you there!


  • The MTD bus will require you to show your ID in order to ride the bus starting Tuesday, September 2nd. Please be sure to pick up your ID from the attendance office before then, or have your electronic ID ready in 5Star.


  • College and Career Center:

College Fair at Parkland College:Parkland College will be hosting the Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) Illinois Regional College Fair on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at their Dodds Athletic Gymnasium.  Parking will be in the M6 lot.  Last year’s program had just over 800 guests come through the doors!
