Herff Jones will be using these sights to send information to ensure they stay informed and up to date with specific order criteria and events necessary for them to receive what they order in a timely fashion.

 SAT Fall 2020 - Seniors:

  • The school-day fall 2020 SAT is for 12th grade students as there was no spring school-day 2020 SAT due to Covid-19. The SAT test date is Wednesday, October 14th. Please make sure to save the date in your calendars. More information will be provided at a later date. This test is an in-person test and fulfills the state SAT requirement for graduation.  Only school-day SAT administrations fulfill the requirement; taking the SAT on other dates in other locations does not fulfill the graduation requirement.

new students, kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade, and 12th grade (immunization

Illini Emergency Medical Services Outreach https://www.fsi.illinois.edu/iems/

Here is a description of what we do and offer that might interest your students:

  • We are a collegiate volunteer based EMS program of the University of Illinois under the Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) and we coordinate with IFSI heavily in our programs and events

  • We are partnered with Carle Foundation Hospital and Arrow Ambulance and coordinate with them

    • We transport with them to their emergency department

    • We work with Carle staff and physicians during events

    • We follow the Carle EMS protocols for the region

  • We provide non-transport Basic Life Support (BLS) to the public

  • We staff various events such as Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Baseball/Softball, Rugby, Soccer, Krannert, etc.

  • We teach CPR, First-Aid and EMT classes regularly

  • CPR classes usually held weekly, all certified by the American Heart Association(AHA)

  • EMT-B classes held every semester, two days a week 7-10 PM with practicals on several weekends

    • One day is usually lecture consisting of the lecture material and the other day is the lab day consisting of going over the hands on skills learned in lecture

    • Pricing is around $600 and students will not receive university credit for the class, which is why we are able to offer it at such a low cost compared to the class taken at community colleges

  • Many leadership opportunities within IEMS such as the officer corps, CPR and EMT instructors, executive board, etc.

  • Paid opportunities include but are not limited to EMT Lab Leader and CPR Instructor

  • Many opportunities to makes connections with people and develop your network and make great friends

We average around 200 calls every year and we often have many people that go into Carle’s Arrow ambulance system for work. We have 20+ people working at Carle as an EMT/ED tech and many of these people get their Paramedic or Nursing work done there. IEMS provides tons of opportunities in the organization itself but outside the organization towards jobs and career goals especially in the medical field.
