The Embodied and Immersive Technologies (EmIT) group at the University of Illinois is looking for high school freshman or sophomores to participate in a National Science Foundation funded research study focused on how students use body movement to understand “big ideas” in science. We are reaching out to you as we want to ensure we have the most complete picture of student learning and interaction with our research as possible.
Students who choose to participate will come to the college of education for three interviews over the course of a few weeks to explore various science topics in our new Illinois Digital Ecologies and Learning Laboratory (IDEALL). Each interview lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and can be scheduled at times that work best for you and your student. Student's who participate will receive a small stipend for each interview ($5 for first, $10 for second, and $15 for third). This is an opportunity to help make digital science education more relevant as well as an opportunity for your student to get on campus and meet education researchers and graduate students.
If you are interested, more information can be found on the project website: elastics.education.
