Congratulations to the CHS Student-Athletes of the Week (September 8)

Hope Lee, freshmen, Swimming and Diving: Hope is a freshman this year and new to swimming, but you wouldn't be able to tell that if you watched her swim! In the meet against Danville she dropped over a minute in her 500 free and continues to show great improvement! She always works hard and never backs down from a challenge! She was nominated by her teammates as athlete of the week because of her positive attitude, her great work ethic, and how she is constantly improving! We are so glad to have her on our team!

Katie Shockey, freshman – Volleyball: As a freshman on JV she has been pushing herself as a middle hitter to step up and be a major hitting and blocking force in our game.  This past weekend she also was one of our leading servers and went on some timely runs to give us the edge in many of our games.

Micaela Katterhenry, sophomore – Volleyball:  Micaela has adopted the culture of what it means to be a maroon without missing a beat. Her understanding of the game of volleyball and dedication to leaving it all on the court is what I believe makes her one of the top JV liberos in the area.  Micaela's defense and serve receive have been superb and she continually impresses by dominating the backrow and being "everywhere."
