Our next PTSA meeting is WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11 at 7:00pm in the CHS Library. 

DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS – CLUBS & ACTIVITIES

Congratulations to the following FBLA members for their placements at the State Leadership Conference this weekend: Tyke Gustafsson, John Henderson, and Ben Hoyer, 9th in Marketing, Michael Hasenstab, 5th in Accounting, Matthew Morgan, Anthony Qiu, and Aayush Bhatia, 4th in Management Decision Making, Anthony Kwok, 3rd in Website Design, and Aaron Banks, 2nd in Economics. The top 4 in any event qualify for Nationals in Baltimore, so we have 5 members who made it! Way to go guys!!

FBLA will continue to meet Wednesdays after school in Room 231 for the rest of the year so come check it out if you have any interest in elevating your future.

The Italy Trip fundraising meeting in room 219 has been moved to Wednesday, after school at 3:30.

You are invited to the French Club Paint night fundraiser on Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30 in the Lower Library. Tickets are $20 and include a paint lesson, food and one entry into our raffle drawing. Please see Madame Schrader in room 117 or a French Club member to purchase a ticket! 

Sophomores, if you are interested in being a Junior Class Officer next year please see Ms. Pennock in room 208 to get a petition and attend one of the meetings next week. They will be Monday and Wednesday after school in 208.

The library will be closed Thursday, April 12Monday April 16 and Tuesday April 17 for testing.

Summer school registration forms for both academic courses and safety/BTW are now available in the counseling office.  After completing the forms, students will need to see their counselor to sign off on the form.  If payment is necessary, they will pay Ms. Thompson in the attendance office.  The deadline for registering for safety or BTW is May 4th and the deadline for a first semester academic course is May 11th.

Interact Club is having their annual International Fair!  Come join us Thursday, from 6-8 in Combes Gym to experience many different cultures through food, dance, and presentations.  All our welcome!  Students are $3 and Adults are $5 with all proceeds going to Doctors without Borders. The 2018 CHS Junior-Senior Prom is approaching quickly. The junior class, with the help of many student and parent/guardian volunteers, host prom and post prom and ensure both events are fun, safe and alcohol-free. We are asking for your help. 

Prom 2018 will include dinner and dancing at the I Hotel on May 12th from 7:00pm until 11:00pm. Post prom will follow at CRCE on the campus of the University of Illinois from midnight until 2:00am. Post prom will offer games, swimming and many other fun activities throughout the event. Snacks and refreshments will also be provided. The prom/post prom committee will secure great prizes that will be raffled through the event to encourage students to remain at post prom for the duration of the event.

ATHLETICS

Congratulations Central Archery for winning the State Championship and setting a new State tournament record! Spencer Weis and Leah Fields both placed 2nd. Chikako Barnes placed 6th and August Beck placed 7th.
