Black History Fact:  On January 5th, 1911 Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, a predominately African American Greek-letter fraternity, was founded on the campus of Indiana University.


Central's Jazz Ensemble has been accepted as one of 15 Finalist Bands at this year's 23rd Annual Essentially Ellington Festival to be held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, May 10-12, 2018. Congratulations to Mr. Currey and the jazz students on this great honor.

Any student interested in joining the TRiO, the Academic Talent Search College Prep Program, applications are available in room 227.

Girls who code will meet TOMORROW after school in 220C. Come learn to expand your animation skills!

Calling all 9th, 10th and 11th graders! We have a display of Chromebook cases in the library and want to know what student think is the best. Vote for your favorite today through the end of the day TOMORROW at your maroon library.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!  Come see Central Drama perform Mary Poppins this weekend at The Virginia Theatre.  Shows are Thursday through Saturday  at 7:00p and a matinee Saturday and Sunday at 2:00p.  Tickets are available at the door or at  www.TheVirginia.org.

Seniors!  Diplomas will be ordered soon! If you would like to make any changes to your name for your diploma, please come to the main office no later than this Friday, February 16th.

Student Council's Spring Blood Drive is February 22nd in the Lower Library. Please see Ms. Pennock in 208 to sign up. You must be at least 16 years old and weigh 110 pounds. 

The 20th Annual Swing Central will be held at the Champaign Country Club on Friday, February 23rd. Due to the popularity of this event, reservations are required for dinner tickets and strongly encouraged for dance-only tickets. Spring Fling will be held February 24th from 7-10 pm in Seely Hall. The theme is Wizard of Oz and we hope to see you there. Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold during lunches on Thursday the 22nd and Friday the 23rd. They will also be sold at the door. 

Spring Fling Spirit Week: 

Tuesday is Onesie/Comfy Day, show us your favorite onesie or your comfy outfit. 

Wednesday is Vine/Meme Day, come dressed as your favorite meme or vine.

Thursday is Office Day, pick your favorite Office Character. 

Friday is College Day, show your pride for the college you are attending or support. 

The CHS Junior-Senior Prom is May 12th from 7-11pm at the I-Hotel. The theme for this year's prom is "Hollywood Red Carpet". We are asking all students that would like to participate in the prom t-shirt design contest to submit an electronic .jpeg image to Mr. Woods at woodsjo@u4sd.org by Friday, March 9. The winner of the t-shirt design contest will win one prom and one post prom ticket to this year's event. 



The University of Arizona will be visiting Central next Wednesday.   This visit is open to all students.  Please reserve a seat using your Naviance account or by visiting the College & Career Center.
