Central H.S. Announcements for 02/09/2018 


Black History Fact:  Otis Boykin’s major developments were the IBM computer and the pacemaker.

Please come and join us for our Black History Program “Historical Events Through the Arts” on Monday, February 12th.  Please see the attached flyer for more information. 


Rehearsals for the Black History Program are TODAY in Decker Theater from 3:30 to 5:30p.

Model United Nations club will have a brief meeting Today after school in room 204. 

Seniors:  Your official Senior Portraits will be taken on February 15th and 16th.  Yearbook will be signing you up for time slots closer to those dates.

There will be a parent and student meeting next Tuesday, February 13th,  at 7:00p  in Room 219 to discuss the 2019 Spring trip to Italy.  All art students and culinary art students are welcome to come with a parent or guardian.

Calling all 9th, 10th and 11th graders! We have a display of Chromebook cases in the library and want to know what student think is the best. Vote for your favorite today through next Thursday at your maroon library.

If you would like to donate blood in the upcoming Blood Drive on February 22nd, please see Ms. Pennock in room 208. You must be at least 16 years old and weigh 110 pounds. 


Any boys interested in joining the Boys’ Track team is welcome to still join, we are not having a cut-off date until April 1st.  Please see Coach Johnson with any questions.


This Sunday, Parkland College will be hosting its annual Parkland Pathway open house event.  More information can be found on the "Community Events" page of the College & Career Center's website or by meeting with your individual school counselor. 

Next Tuesday: Western Illinois University will be visiting Central.  

Next Wednesday: Greenville University will be visiting Central.
