THERE IS NO SCHOOL, MONDAY, JANUARY 15TH IN CELEBRATION OF MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY.  SCHOOL WILL RESUME NORMAL HOURS ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 16TH.

The Central High School Music Boosters proudly present the 9th Annual Trivia Night.  SaturdayFebruary 3th at Faith United Methodist Church.  This event includes dinner (6:00p) provided by Moe’s Southwest Grill, trivia competition (7:00p) hosted by Central’s Very Own Gary Slotnick, door prizes, snacks, and soda.  Raffles and silent auction will occur throughout the evening. Answers are submitted by your team at your table; you are not required to answer questions individually.  Early Bird Registration fee is $200 through Jan 22 (after Jan 22, registration fee is $220) for a team of up to 8 people.  All money raised supports Champaign Central’s Music Programs.

DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS – CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

The Black History Program Committee is recruiting all dancers, singers, musicians and artists.  Any student who just wants to help with this years “African American History through the Arts” Program.  Sign-up TODAY.  See Ms. Graham, Ms. Kunkel, Mr. Turner, Mr. Cooper or Ms. Cobb for more information.  The first meeting is TODAY after school in room 229.

Students interested in learning about racial identity development and becoming advocates for racial justice should consider joining RISE. RISE, the Racial Identity Student Experience, is comprised of students from Central, Centennial, and Novak and caring adults who wish to formulate a progressive understanding about race. All genders and gender expression are welcome. A light dinner will be provided. The next meeting is at Centennial on Tuesday, January 23rd in the library and room 127 from 4:00-5:30 pm. A bus will bring Central students to and from the meeting. Central students can see Ms. Flugge or Mr. Cooper.

ATHLETICS

Come to the Prospect Applebee's TOMORROW from 8:00a-10:00a to support our Cross Country team at their flapjack breakfast.  Donations are $5.00 per ticket.  Please see your favorite Cross Country runner to purchase tickets or you may buy them at the door.

Girls Soccer:  Open gym Soccer Sundays from 12:15p – 2:00p in Combes Gym.

Juniors and Seniors, a new employment opportunity has been posted on the College & Career Center website and on the College & Career Center's bulletin board.  

The University of Illinois Center for Global Studies is offering high school summer programs on campus. They offer college-level interdisciplinary foundations on global studies topics to introduce analytical skills for addressing issues from a global perspective. This summer the topics are Sustainable Futures, International Law and Social Justice, and Global Health.
